What should i do with my xbox?

my xbox has been having video problem for the last couple week and just a couple days ago it got the red rings so im definitely sending it but the thing is i live in Las Vegas and the repair center is in mesquite, Tx about 10 miles away from where my dad lives and im depating wether or not i should send i in just to ups or give it to my dad he come here if not every weekend every other week it took my dads roommate 4 days to get his xbox repaired (in texas) it took my friend 3 weeks (in Vegas) HELP!!!!!
