"I am the way the truth and the life; NO MAN cometh unto the Father BUT BY ME." John 14:6?

If John said that Jesus said, that GOD told him this, why do so many poeple belive this? If god said this directly to me, then I'd be more apt to believe that Jesus is the only way to know GOD. It's asanine to think GOD would reject people that doesn't know Jesus
