My man Is Not "Pet-Friendly"?

My boyfriend and I have been dating for about a year and a half now and he has never seemed to have a problem with me being an extreme animal lover til recently.I moved in with him in January and I brought my yorkie with me. He acts like he absolutely loves him and everything and we have a parrot too. Now he is pitching a fit and is making me sell my bird. The thing is he was talking about wanting to get another dog soon and then when I started looking into breeders and doing research he says no! you cant have anymore animals. just the yorkie and then he says he would be happier if there were no pets at all. This is a problem for me because of the fact that I always want pets in my home. I am very responsible and take them for shots and spay/neuter and take excellent care of them. I guess my question is is my relationship doomed because of our differences on the issue. I mean since I was really little Ive dreamed of having a house with acreage and horses and such. Do I need to move on?
