Mw2 Help- Does FMJ actually help?

All fmj does is add damage to bullet . If your shooting someone through surface like a wall. It does not add any damage to regular shots fired. So if your shooting people through stuff it is very helpful, if your style is getting people out in the open then maybe something else would better suit your gameplay.
