I want to move to Austin, TX? SMart MOve?

I am coming from Las Vegas, NV. I have been around Nor Cal for almost my whole life, and I reside in Las Vegas, NV Currently. Vegas is great, but like California it is getting expensive, and to come and think about it would i really want to raise a family in Sin CIty?.. Ive been looking at houses, there and i was wondering if any locals can verify that, the houses are shockingly cheap. ive seen houses for as little 200k, some of em even in the 180's. Is this for real?..LOL.. ive seen em in the suburbs like san marcos, round rock and pflugerville. they say its a great city. obviously less crime than las vegas. I am getting my degree in nursing. do u think its a smart move?
