Cant get the spool off of an rte 115 electric trimmer?

so i have an rte 115 electric weed whacker and i ran out of line today and i cant get the cap off it says to twist counterclockwise but i cant get the damn thing off. can anyone tell me if there is something im not doing all im doing to try getting it off is twisting it thanks.
